I am doing my navigation training and have been unable to find a list of standard radio calls for lane of entry etc. I flew over the harbour bridge and up the coast with a mate in his helicopter last weekend and he made so many radio calls that i was unaware of. I'd have thought that after 90 hours instruction you would have radio chat off pat. I don't know what you mean by "standard radio calls for lane entry" but I'd be very confused (not unusual :) if these weren't specific to an airfield and also weren't transmitted in the normal ATC calls format. So they ought to be sort of like VFR or IFR clearances to/from an airfield, following standard routes as published in the plates. I don't know (sorry) if your Civil Aviation Safety Authority publish these or not, but they will exist, probably published as part of the set of specific airfield charts. Phil Bishop Posted April 5, 2021 at 01:09 AM Author Posted April 5, 2021 at 01:09 AM Hi Kirk, Many thanks for this information, I have followed your link and found ‘phraseologies’ (standard words & phrases) used in radio calls, just FYI most of my flying has been circuits and across to Warragamba Dam etc. I have now started joint lane of entry traffic and overflying air fields (Warnervale NSW) and these are calls that i am not that familiar will. The information provided by Air Services Australia is extremely detailed etc. and it will provide me with the opportunity to better improve my radio skills.
