"INVALID CALLSIGN" error joining Sweatbox on SYS or ES

INVALID CALLSIGN error is appearing when attempting to join sweatbox server. Have tried different callsigns and re-installed ES and sector files. I am able to connect as an observer but this does not facilitate my training and must have the permissions of a TWR. If anyone could help out this would be greatly appreciated. My account has no known restrictions or bans in place.

Cheers

Hi Nick

We've pushed an update out to allow OBS to login as S1, and S2 to login as S3 as Euroscope doesn't allow S2's to run sessions.

The sweatbox server was versions behind the current network servers, and it also had many tweaks which because we had no code, we had no idea what needed adjusting from the live network. This is just one of about 6 changes that differ sweatbox from the live network servers.

Whats the reason for allowing OBS to login as S1? At least, earlier OBS could control normally on Sweatbox unless it's just a side effect of the "S2 to login as S3" part?

It's one of these niche things that means we need to add one line of code, or spend lots of time trying to find what actually needs to be adjusted, just to get a fix out to allow OBS to log in and do the actions that a controller can. It's only allowed on sweatbox so it's not a damage to the network.

Thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly. Could you give me an estimated time this update will be applied?

Thanks you.

It's not working. Still cannot login and getting "INVALID CALLSIGN" whenever joining on TWR and when joined on OBS cannot edit flight plans or have S2 abilities

Just to confirm: You are trying to log in with

  • Connection mode: Direct to VATISIM
  • Callsign: XXXX_TWR
  • Facility: Tower
  • Rating: Ground/Delivery (STU1)
  • Server: SweatBox / sweatbox-2.vatsim.net
