Hi, my vpilot has an issue with connecting to simconnect ( or logs so ).

I tried with a empty community folder , reinstalled vpilot with empty config, deinstall fsuipc7 , with only vpilot and msfs running...

This start coming from the moment the sim is starting up even without even connecting to vatsim. Connecting on vatsim works, i can hear ATC and see other vatsim aircrafts,
So it works in the end but every message ( each 1-2 seconds gives the error beep ). Other apps like IVAO Pilot Client , Navigraph, little navmap , volanta , simtoolkitpro all work as expected. Only vpilot gives this annoying message. Only thing left is a complete reinstall of msfs at the moment ( install is only 3 weeks old )

Hi Ross,

I'm also experiencing this recently -- any ideas what the cause might be?

Best,

I've seen this before with P3D if the user selects an avatar or other non-flyable vehicle. When vPilot requests information about the user's aircraft, it returns this ILLEGAL_OPERATION error because the requested data is not available in the vehicle or avatar that the user has selected. Maybe this could give some clue as to why it's happening in your MSFS? What aircraft do you have loaded?

Hi Ross,

It’s just the default C172 (clockwork gauge version) so that is odd!

I will try with a different livery just in case that makes any difference, as well as with a different aircraft.

In the end I solved this with reinstalling msfs, i moved the Localcache folder to a new location, uninstalled msfs from the store , then reinstalled it again.

First time it starts you can select to download all content again but also point to your localcache folder. This way you don't have to download +100GB again.

Thanks Ewold -- fingers crossed I can find a way to avoid that but good to know the secret to doing so!

@Ross Carlson - tried with the default C152 and the default A320neo and still getting the same errors.

I would try temporarily removing everything from your community folder to see if something there is interfering.

I tried this, removing my Community folder didnt resolve the problem, also when i reinstalled i put my same folders back and this worked with out any issue. I think it messes up with the build-in simconnect implementation at some point but can't really say where or when this happened for me. Now its back working for 3 weeks for me without issues with different things in my mod folder. Did a VATSIM flight yesterday without issues ( except ATC complaining i was flying 600ft of my reported altitude but thats another topic )
