Hello, first time to ask a question here.  How do pilots voice chat to other pilots on vatsim?  Do I just put in a frequency which no one is using?

I am sure someone probably asked the same question before.

Thank you.

I've never done this before but it should technically work within a limited range around you, I guess.

@Chanet Rattakunjara

Technically you can do it, but it’s against the VATSIM CoC.

I suggest you to use teamspeak or discord instead
Filippo,

Additionally, you might think that UNICOM, 122.8, is good for inter-pilot chat, but its use is restricted to merely broadcasting information, like intentions, locations etc. to inform other pilots in the area of what you are doing.

@Filippo Genoni Oh yes you are correct, I read about COC sometime long ago.  The reason I asked was I was thinking about flying with couple of my friends.

As said, use the .chat function in your pilot client (for text conversation), or external sources like Teamspeak or Discord.

You can use the VATSIM Community Discord as well for such chat, but any radio frequency on the network itself is not for personal communications.
