A number of people seem to be having issues with installing xPilot v2.0.0 Beta.

A few reminders and notes:

  • The introduction of the Velocity network enhancement on 31 Jan 2022 at 2200Z required an update to all pilot clients.  xPilot v1.3.38 will no longer work.
  • You may go to https://vats.im/xpilot to download the most current version of the software.
  • You MUST ensure xPilot and XPlane are both shut down completely before installing the new software.  If you have not, it is possible that you will have 2 versions of xPilot on your computer, and neither will work.
  • If, after installing the new xPilot version you are having issues, suggest you remove all traces of all versions of xPilot from your computer (perhaps using Windows Add or Remove Programs) and then install a fresh version of the latest beta.  That seems to be helping many people.
  • As of right now, the developer has branded v2.0.0 a Beta release.  That's OK.  It's only been hours since the implementation of Velocity and the release of the updated software.  I'm sure the Beta label will drop when the developer is comfortable that the most significant bugs are resolved and the release is stable.  Do not attempt to reinstall a prior version (e.g. 1.1.38).  It will not work.  And it's possible that neither of them will work if you do that.
  • Your PTT must be assigned through X-Plane. See https://beta.xpilot-project.org/#/xplane?id=how-to-assign-ptt for instructions how on to bind your PTT key/joystick button. You can no longer bind system modifier keys, like CTRL, ALT, SHIFT, etc.

I don't understand why because he asked me the directory of X-Plane 11.

Help!

Thank you,
