Position Posting: Port-Au-Prince Events Coordinator

Purpose:
Port-Au-Prince FIR is looking for a motivated individual that possesses a high degree of energy and commitment to serve as the Events Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Deputy Air Traffic Manager and Air Traffic Manager (ATM as needed).
- Oversees the facility events department.
- Creates, develops, and manage facility events.
- Develops material for facility promotion and advertisement.

Requirements:
- Supports the Port-Au-Prince FIR as a leader and department head with active standards and professionalism. 
- Serves as a leader to coach and motivate controllers while upholding a culture that builds exceptional internal and external pilot experiences. 
- Oversees the Events Department and a team of workers to assist in the planning, creation, and execution of facility events.
- Perform multiple functions, including project management, projects execution, graphic design, and other assigned duties.
- Assess learning needs accurately and propose creative and effective learning solutions.
- Supports and participates in initiatives that give back to the VATSIM community.
- Works in collaboration with Virtual Airlines and other facilities to leverage synergy opportunities across the region.
- Coordinates with neighboring facilities to arrange support for Port-Au-Prince hosted events, and arranges facility support for neighboring events.
- Develops and distributes marketing material (graphics, news posts, forum posts, etc) to promote
events and the facility.
- Understands and drives appropriate metrics to assess controller performance within the Event’s environment.
- Supports and participates in initiatives that give back to the VATSIM community.
- Supports the recruitment, retention and development of a diverse range of talented people to fill the roles within the events team.
- Holds self and others accountable to high performance standards while providing pilots with memorable experiences
- Ability to listen to feedback and take constructive action.
- Maintains, updates and manages events policies for events team members and department procedures.
- Ensures that the Port-Au-Prince FIR is following all VATSIM and VATCAR events directives.
- Be able to meet all activity requirements as outlined in Port-Au-Prince Administrative Policy.

Preferred Skills:
- Must hold at least an S3 rating (C1 preferred, but not required). Exceptions are made with S2 controllers that have experience in their rating. The controller shall commit to gain their S3 rating in the next 90 days once appointed.
- Leadership, managerial, or supervisory experience (real world or VATSIM applicable).
- Demonstrates the qualities of understanding, patience, restraint, and professionalism.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must have good knowledge of editing software such as the adobe creative cloud or similar.
- Must be able to work in a team environment and lead a team.
- The ability to dedicate 2-4 hours of event management per week, minimum.
