Any remaining slots have been released to the anyone who does not have one.

With this, comes slot trading as well! We have a dedicated channel for slot trades on our discord server (ctp.vatsim.net -> discord)
You can use this channel to arrange a trade with someone from the community. Once you have done this, you can go to your dashboard on ctp.vatsim.net and request the trade (you will need the other member's CID). The other person will then need to accept it.

NOTE: please be aware that to trade a slot you need to have one and swap it with someone else's slot. Trading is not possible without first having a slot to give in return.

Tomorrow (Monday 17OCT) at 0930z the website will be changed to accept confirmations for those with bookings. What does this mean? To ensure we have a lower number of no-shows and that the slots we have are utilized as best as possible, we ask that all pilots that have already booked a slot go back to the CTP website and confirm their slot from their dashboard. This will be possible from tomorrow at 0930z until some time during the night (zulu hours) between Thursday 20OCT at 1700z. You may remember this step from previous years or from the bookings page.
NOTE: This does not apply to bookings made after tomorrow at 0930z. They will be automatically considered confirmed.

Any slots that are not confirmed by Thursday 20OCT, 1700z will be "released" back into the pool of available slots and may be booked by someone else from Thursday 20OCT, 1800z.

To sum it up: you MUST confirm your slot between Monday 17OCT 0930z and Thursday 20OCT 1700z or you will loose it.

You can make any and all changes to your slot (including rebooking another one) until the night between Thursday and Friday when we will lock them all for the final preparations for the event.

That being said, we enter the final week before the event. We will be posting more announcements aimed at pilots who will be flying. We have dedicated channels on our discord server for announcements and pilot notams, so be sure to join us if you havent already so you don't miss a thing.

We have some other exciting news, but their ETA has not struck yet, so keep an eye out.

Hello,

thank you all for organising! I'm really looking forward to it.

As I'm flying in MSFS, I was looking for a good long range plane. I'm right now planning to fly the PMDG DC-6 and was wondering if there is any lower limit on speed as there is an upper one (Concorde)?

Thanks a lot again!

Best Regards,

Daniel

I take it there is no way to let the organisers know that I can't attend?

Slots have been locked. We are 12 hours short from first departure. Anything is now considered a no-show.

Good morning! Your flightplans are now online, available in the CTP website and are about to arrive in your inbox ✈️ You must fly this flightplan tomorrow - otherwise you will be treated as non-event traffic.

Maybe ask on discord or wherever if someone will take it off your hands. Probably email your callsign etc

Cross the Pond 2022 - Eastbound - Non-Event Traffic

Tomorrow we will host more than 1000 planes accross the Atlantic to a range of airfields across Europe and South Africa, from departing fields in the USA, Canada, the Carribean and Brazil. In designing this event, the majority of our capacity is assigned to pre-booked traffic for our event.

If you plan to fly in or out of departing event fields, you will be metered, potentially delayed via the North America vATCSCC depending on workload at the event fields and enroute sectors.

If you plan to fly across the pond, your routing will be mandated based on avoiding traffic already booked to cross the pond, and you can expect to have a flight at a very low level for the duration.

If you plan to fly in Europe during the event, you will be subject to delays if your flight crosses the paths of CTP arrivals, you will be delayed on the ground in order to manage to the work for our controllers.

Departing offline in order to circumvent departure restrictions on the ground will be monitored by the supervisor team.

If you plan to cross the Atlantic in the Eastbound Direction in North America

You can expect a re-route on the ground (if covered by ATC) or in the air if already airbourne when you fall under control of ATC.

If you plan to cross the Atlantic in the Westbound Direction, we recommend that you fly along one of the following tracks:-

N1    SUNOT 5820N 5930N 5940N 5950N AVUTI
N2    SUNOT 5820N 5930N 5940N 5750N JANJO

We also added the following tracks in the mid-atlantic - which can be used in both directions

N5    HIDRA 4420N 4430N 4440N 4350N 4160N 3870N ZIBUT
N6    HIDRA 4420N 4430N 4440N 4250N SOORY SUMRS
N7    MUDOS 4220N 3930N 3540N 3050N KAVAX SOCCO

We hope this guidance assists with planning your flight and helps you to understand why you may be delayed during your flight.

we have to assign routes at some point...and we have to communicate those to pilots before the event. We also have to inform ATC what is booked traffic and where they will fly.

So it's an inconvenience for last-minute pilots, but it's a huge logistical convenience for the 1000 people with bookings and the 200 controllers for the event.

I just realised after taking off from MAN-AMS that the event is on. Is it best for me to divert to an appropriate nearby airport in The Netherlands?

Thanks and Congratulations to all the Organizers.

Apart from a rough ending for me aircraft and controller wise. It was a decent event since my last one was more than 10 years ago.

Thanks again and looking forward to more.

How about a Cross the Pacific??...if there isn't one already that is.
