When i tune com2 for voice ATIS in SB, i hear the ATIS, note down important info. And as i get out of that frequency, most of the time it plays still. And when i do it on Com1, as i go back onto Unicom it says 122.8[voice+text], and plays the ATIS on unicom. When i clicked "get controller info" without tuning it, the ATIS played on Unicom. And once or twice after listening to an ATIS, i am constantly transmitting on a frequency without pressing my PTT. I haven't heard anything about the issue you mentioned where you are constantly transmitting without pressing your PTT key, but I don't see how that could be a VRC issue.
