The sector files are the same whether you are using ASRC or VRC. Your question has already been answered in your ASRC thread. Sector files are always found on the website of the Division responsible for that airspace. You also need to go to that website to find out about the training programme for learning to be a controller.

If you look on the VRC website http://www.metacraft.com/VRC/docomeentation.shtml there's a guide to setting up VRC for the first time called the Observers Guide.

I'm not sure why you are getitng that error message. Which sector file are you using?

Robbie,

You seem to be very interested in getting started and I commend you for your enthusiasm. But this is an activity that requires a certain amount of reading and study. VRC is fairly easy to setup but it is a complex program and requires that you read the manual carefully. I have been using for awhile an have not learned everything about it yet.

The needed files to get started are the Sector file and the POF file. The Alias file is not really needed to run immediatly but it is nice to have, especially when using text commands. I have never seen the error you are getting but it is most likely that you are not loading all the needed files or you are trying to load the incorrect file.

As Ruth stated the files can be found in the division or facility you want to control at. In the case of London EGLL you would need to visit the VATSIM UK website and locate them. I would suggest that you read read the the section ATC Training on the VATSIM UK website. It is very well written and provides a good guide on how to get started.

Good luck and I hope you will take your time and read the material carefully.

You'll need to give me the precise name of the file as there are several different files for the London FIR. I'd suggest you try another file. EGLL_TWR would be a good one to start with. If you get problems with that as well, you will need to uninstall VRC and then reinstall following the instructions in the Observers Guide very carefully
