I have decided to buy an additional PC and have been quoted for the following:

AMD PHENOM 9600 SKT AM2+ 2.30Ghz Black Edition Processor

MBASU-M3A Asus Motherboard

Patriot 2 x 1Gb matched pair - PC2-8500 DDR2-1066 EXTRM RAM

Just wanted to get some feed back on this, and if there are any better options for any of the above,

for this PC which will be used exclusively for FS.

Very grateful for any comments.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards

That looks like an interessting setup though I don't see a Video Card listed? It really depends on your budget but if you can I would reccomend waiting for the Intel E8500 to come out and use that with a Nvidia 8800GT. AMD aren't really leading the market at the moment, although that will probally change soon.

Cheers

Thanks for the reply Oliver.

I already have bought an Nvidia8800GT which is still in the unpacked. Concerning waiting for the Intel, I'm afraid I need to buy something quicly

as I had to give to my daughter the PC I had.

No problem, as I said if budget is not an issue I'd reccomend something like the Coreâ„¢2 Extreme processor QX9650 (4 cores), as for dual core something like a E8500 or E8400. If you click here you should see some comparisons.

The motherboard looks ok, though I'd go for something SLi compatible, and make sure you get a nice CPU fan (I have a Zalman cooler, works very well).

Just 0.2€

Buy the Intel Q6600 instead of the AMD chip. Look around the net about the Phenom being too slow for the price.

The Q6600 is the better buy and it's much faster.
