Magnus,

We have several good working VISTA installation, so I think this issue is related to your configuration. Therefore I need some more [Mod - Happy Thoughts]istant from you to evaluate it.

First it seems that MSVCR80.dll causes the crash. Can you count me where do you have MSVCR80.dll in your system (surely you have one in the EuroScope folder as the installer copies it to there). If you find it somewhere else then on that or a folder up you should have a Microsoft.VC80.MFC.manifest file. What is the content of it?

Second: On some VISTA machine I found that putting all the CRT and MFC files might not work correctly. Make try. Create a Microsoft.VC80.CRT and a Microsoft.VC80.MFC folder under EuroScope. Move the Microsoft.VC80.CRT.manifest, msvcm80.dll, msvcp80.dll and msvcr80.dll to Microsoft.VC80.CRT, and move the mfc80.dll, mfc80u.dll, mfcm80.dll, mfcm80u.dll and Microsoft.VC80.MFC.manifest to Microsoft.VC80.MFC.

Third: Delete (move to another place) all the files named in point two. Download the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86) from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=32bc1bee-a3f9-4c13-9c99-220b62a191ee&displaylang=en and install.

Does any of them make any difference?

Gergely.
