I had no plane behaving strange. I set the great majority of my key [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ignments through the Joystick and Buttons option in XP, instead of [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igning keys and axis using the saitek software. It worked very well. You may have to reduce the axis sensitivity a bit perhaps. If you were more specific as to what exactly are the problems you encounter perhaps I could help you better.
