Hello, as the title sugests, i am having a problem. When i open a file in audacity and then convert the sample rate, the wave form gets longer and the tone goes deeper. Is there something I am missing here for converting the the sample rate correctly?

Hello Michael,

The trick I used to record my ATIS files was to simply record them immediately at the required rate for the VVL. Aside from that, I'm taking a look in Audacity to see if there's a way to make the conversion without you sounding like James Brown.

I may have found a decent workaround. I am using the Loquendo "Kenneth" Voice and TextAloud. TextAloud records the file as a 16bit PCM 16000hz file. Open the file in audacity, change speed +120, set rate 7350hz. Gets it almost right on the money.
