VATAME has been approved the GULF_FSS position, which I am proud to control, and which provides UIR radar services, similar to Eurocontrol to 9 Near East countries/ FIR's. This new development signifies the BOG flexibility you had suggested, and the continuous effort by VATAME to awaken dormant traffic into remote but attractive destinations. I had the opportunity to control a few events in various VATAME regions, including South Africa, Egypt, the Arabian Peninsula and Gulf area, and I can say that the overwhelming traffic left me often breathless.
