EuroScope will not connect

Hi all,

Since today I can not manage in getting EuroScope to connect to VATSIM.

When I press connect, I immediatly get disconnected again.

Once I even got "Unauthorized Client Software"-warning.

I tried VRC and that worked ... so the issue is clearly EuroScope related.

Any thing I can do ?

No, it's a server issue. Try another server, you should find one that works. This happens from time to time on different servers ... don't ask me why, I have no idea

Well ... What is the correct step to take if ALL servers do the same ??

I used EUROPE-CW just right now. And worked well. No "Unauthorized Client Software".

I just did the same and as with all servers I get connected for less then a second and then I automatically get disconnected again. I got the "Unauthorized Client Software" with the USA-S1 server.

Strange. For me it happens from time to time on different servers, but never on all, usually just on one, and the second one I chose worked fine.

But actually I can currently confirm it. No way to stay online with 3.0.4.5 ... "Unauthorized Client Software" (or just a disconnect without any message) on all servers.

Edit: we should really investigate this. I wasn't able to connect using my EURM profile. Now that I changed to the EDGG profile, I am online with the first try.

It was as OBS with max vis (300nm), so vis-range shouldn't have been an issue, unless something went wrong on server-side. My max vis-range during CTP was aroung 2800nm all centers added, and I was able to connect ...

I have had the same message when trying to connect to Europe-CE from 1 month. I can't connect to any of the US servers, but all the rest ot EU and OCEANIA are working for me. Stephan, try to load the servers info on all your profiles, maybe you have a out of date list.

Gergely, shouldn't ES update the list servers on downloading the VATSIM Data? Or we still need to use the "Load" Service button on the Connection panel to be up to date?

That doesn't help, and I mainly use the same settings-files on both profiles, so there is not that much room for differences between the profiles, apart from SCT/ESE/ASR and login. I will try to investigate that, but it would help if we could find out what causes this message (or the immediate disconnect without any message) on serverside.

I'm glad someone has experienced the same.

Just an update. Even now (1 day later):

I get the "unauthorized client software" on the following servers: EUROPE-CE and USA-S1.

I get connected (since I get the general server info), but also immediatly disconnected (without the "unauthorized client software" warning) on ALL other servers.

Could we get some VATSIM server administrators to look into this .... ?

I just got the message that the problem might be sct file related.

All controllers who have the new SCT file are experiencing problems logging in.

Is this somewhat possible ?

I will try to figure this out and confirm if possible ...

Yep I'm sure now: It's NOT sector file related since I tried the previous one (which is working with nearly everyone else in my vACC) without success.

The servers in my "ipaddr.txt":

88.198.19.202 EUROPE-C2
88.198.64.7 EUROPE-CW
89.233.173.18 EUROPE-CE
202.45.127.66 OCEANIA
66.98.168.65 USA-S1
66.221.192.84 USA-S3
80.249.98.88 UK-1
64.151.80.104 USA-W2

The fact that I keep getting that "Unauthorized Client Software" should indicate a problem with EuroScope, right ??? Gergely ??

OK, I would like to offer the solution to my problem since it might help others.

I had trouble with the Malta sector file. Open it up and check the INFO line. If there is a : in it, replace it with something.

Gergely told me that FSD recognises : as a separator and by detecting it, the system gets confused as there are more arguments/parameters/whatever than it is expecting.

Regards,

Now all works fine again.
