#508991 The only good source of documentation for SCT files I could find, was this one from VRC: http://www1.metacraft.com/VRC/docs/doc. ... appendix_g

However, when I open some SCT files meant for EuroScope, the [STAR] sections are quite different than what VRC's documentation says it should be.

Here are two examples:

Code: Select all[STAR]
;
; ENAT, Alta
;
;ENAT RWY 11 - BADIX 1Q
ENAT STARS RWY 11 BADIX BADIX EKTOX EKTOX
;ENAT RWY 11 - ORVAK 1Q
ORVAK ORVAK RIXIB RIXIB
;ENAT RWY 11 - UDSAM 1Q
UDSAM UDSAM EKTOX EKTOX

Code: Select allENGM STARS RWY 01 PMS RANGE      N059.39.15.947 E010.16.01.883 N059.42.20.807 E010.09.52.415 Mapcolor8 ;VALPU
                          N059.42.20.807 E010.09.52.415 N059.45.55.007 E010.04.52.716 Mapcolor8 ;
                          N059.45.55.007 E010.04.52.716 N059.49.51.959 E010.01.11.892 Mapcolor8 ;
                          N059.49.51.959 E010.01.11.892 N059.54.04.536 E009.58.56.640 Mapcolor8 ;
                          N059.54.04.536 E009.58.56.640 N059.58.24.996 E009.58.11.099 Mapcolor8 ;

The first one clearly doesn't follow the SCT spec according to the documentation I found (it lacks the mandatory padding of 26 spaces on the left side). Yet it loads in EuroScope. Does EuroScope have another way of interpreting SCT files? Or does it silently ignore lines it cannot parse? (Or is it logged somewhere?) What is the correct way to interpret these different kinds of SID/STAR sections?

#509649 Eirik,

ES does not really care the positions in the SCT files. It loads all the data based on whitespace separators. So if you have SPACE in any of the names ES will not load it correctly. But otherwise all files that that fits http://www1.metacraft.com/VRC/docs/doc.php?page=appendix_g will be loaded.

There is only one extension you should use in ES: the RWSs are defined differently. In ES there is an additional column to connect the RWY to an airport: http://www.euroscope.hu/mediawiki/index.php?title=Quick_Start#How_To_Use_Existing_Sector_And_Position_Files
