VATeir, the Irish vACC of VATSIM, is accepting applications for the position of Operations Director.
The closing date for applications is 31 May 2017 at 22:59:59Z.

Applications should be sent to ‘director@vateir.org’ to include the position for which you are applying in the subject line.

The body of the email should include your name, VATSIM CID, your rating (excluding administrative ratings) and a short VATSIM CV indicating previous previous experience as appropriate.

The Operations Director reports to the vACC director and liases with the Events Director and the Training Director in the course of their duties. The Operations Director is an honorary position.

The duties of the Operations Director include, but are not limited to:
  • Updating and maintaining the SCT and ESE files to align their contents with the current AIRAC;
  • Maintaining controller manuals for Irish airspace;
  • Coordinating with neighbouring vACCs to ensure that all SOPs and LOAs are up to date, in liaison with the Training Director;
  • Working with the Events Director to roster appropriate controllers on positions during events;
  • Working with the Events Director to ensure that all resources for events etc. are available (custom sector files, briefing documents, etc.);
  • Producing monthly reports of network activity within Irish airspace;
  • Ensuring that all operations data is up to date in the VATEUD API;
  • Maintaining an online presence within the vACC;
  • Other duties as assigned to him/her by the vACC Director.

Ideally, candidates will have:
  • Membership of VATeir or a willingness to become a member of VATeir;
  • An S3 rating, and a willingness to learn;
  • A clean VATSIM CERT record;
  • Demonstrable knowledge of producing sector and ESE files;
  • Good knowledge of the VATSIM Code of Conduct and Code of Regulations;
  • Experience producing documentation with Microsoft Word or similar software;
  • Good written English and good verbal skills.
