Aggrey Ellis 964561 Posted January 3, 2010 at 07:06 AM Posted January 3, 2010 at 07:06 AM I've just raised the money for an Intel X25-M SSD. I'd like to move my FSX installation onto the SSD. It's about 60 GB so it should fit nicely. Can I just copy all the files onto the SSD and edit the registry? Also, can I move my OS onto the SSD? I've got Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit if it helps. Richard Gerrish Posted January 3, 2010 at 07:25 AM Posted January 3, 2010 at 07:25 AM to move the OS without doing a complete reinstall you would need to clone you current drive. there are a few programs out there that allow you to do it easily. acronis comes to mind....http://www.acronis.com/ as for moving FSX it would depend on how comfortable you are with editting all the registry entries that you might need to do to be sure that it'll work. unless you have a ton of addons i'd say be safe and run the uninstall/reinstall gambit Richard Gerrish Developer, STM Applications Group
