Alfred Tang Posted January 10, 2010 at 12:32 AM Posted January 10, 2010 at 12:32 AM Hi everyone, For those of you who miss the crowded sky during EW2008, here is a chance to make it happen again! We will be taking suggestions for organizing the Eastern Wind event this year, and everyone, no matter you are a controller, a divisional staff member, or a pilot, you can be part of this event by telling us what you want the Eastern Wind event to be here. I will take note of all constructive comments and will take them into consideration when discussing the details with the planning committee (which will be formed within this week or the next). I will post updates here as they become available. Stay tuned. Alfred Tang (934809) Director | Hong Kong VACC

Reece Hunter Posted January 10, 2010 at 07:20 AM Posted January 10, 2010 at 07:20 AM So is vACC Philippines. It appears that this has grown in scope in a year. Back in 2007, only three facilities were involved. While it is good to see the growth, I was wondering what its effect was pertaining to traffic density. Is it better to have one big event with traffic distributed amongst many facilities or would it be good to have a few facilities host many aircraft? What are your thoughts? Ray Dotulung Posted January 10, 2010 at 07:38 AM Posted January 10, 2010 at 07:38 AM Good point there Reece, .. for ppl there will be too many places for take off and landing (IMHO), traffic density we wanna see its not there. Maybe by opening several FIR's say 2 or 3 we can get ATC very busy. Other thoughts? ------------------------------------------------------ Indonesia VaCC | Virtual Airlines of Indonesia

Kenji Ota 1127655 Posted January 12, 2010 at 04:02 PM Posted January 12, 2010 at 04:02 PM I and Sir Reece will be helping out for Philippines sector. I will gladly inform our local VAs and controllers once we have the final plan output. With regards to Mr. Reece's post, how about having a poll for example, for the desired date and time, and a thread for a list of "sure" participating ATC, pilots and etc? In these way, we can determine our plan if we want to have few stations and high volume of traffic or an equally distributed volume of stations and traffic.
