Alan Grindrod 1085864 Posted January 11, 2010 at 02:44 PM Posted January 11, 2010 at 02:44 PM I've just done my first succecful session on VATSIM. However I have found that when transmitting a message I can hear my own voice in my headset but there is a delay so I am talking over my own voice. How can I fix this? Also, when getting a radio check, the readability is not very good. The controller struggles to understand me. Any ideas on how I can clear up my transmissions? Rauno Maisa 1018208 Posted January 11, 2010 at 03:04 PM Posted January 11, 2010 at 03:04 PM If you are using squawkbox, turn off "Simulate VHF transmission" under voice options. About that mic echo thing, open up your volume manager/controller(from the tray usually) and mute your microphone under speaker settings.
Randy Tyndall 1087023 Posted January 11, 2010 at 03:41 PM Posted January 11, 2010 at 03:41 PM Also check to make sure you don't have Comm1 and Comm2 set to the same frequency. That'll give you a bad echo...Been there...done that...but alas, got no T-Shirt. Do have one that says "Remove Before Flight". Interesting concept, eh?
