[Job Opening] Chart Developer for Mainland China FIRs

Hi all,

 

As a continuation of the previous 'Job Opening' post for the mainland China airspace development, we would like to recruit some staff whom are able kindly make some contributions to our project, by developing our aeronautical charts.

 

Aeronautical charts of the mainland Chinese (especially English versions) are not opened to public, therefore self-development is required. And developing aeronautical charts require time, patience and a sense of responsibility. But upon conclusion of the chart, you will feel rewarded, as members all around VATSIM network who visits mainland Chinese airspace will be flying with your creations!

 

Please note that all basic training will be provided upon initial stages of chart development.

 

Below are several selection criteria that will help you to see if this is a job for you:

Must

• Have basic understanding, and able to interpret aeronautical charts (no specific location constraint, as they are all very similar).
  
• Have a basic understanding of vector drawing software usage, such as Inkscape, Fireworks, Illustrator etc.
  
• Have a sense of responsibility for quality of charts and chart delivery times.
  
• Be able to contribute some time on a weekly basis

 

Good to

• Be able to understand Chinese writing.
  
• Be proficient with a specific vector drawing software, Inkscape in particular.
  
• Be able to maintain frequent communication.

 

Regarding to the delivery times and time contribution on a weekly basis, although important, but we are very flexible and understanding, and will always encourage that real life commitments are always priority, because we understand very well that all staff involved are volunteers.
