You need to connect your fs2002 to the multiplayer session - file, multiplayer, connect.

I have turned off my firewall

You can not turn off firewall while connected to internet because you may get virus in a moment. You must have a firewall such as router or Windows built in firewall or an antivirus with built in firewall.

You may try uninstall antivirus if you have an other firewall.

I am unable to connect because i can only host not join. I try this once sb is already running. I also set my firewall so fs2002 and sb would not get blocked. still having trouble

no. you cannot host. it has to join the session. in the old squawkbox versions you had to host, you no longer do that. Squawkbox will host its own session automatically, you need to search for that session using the multiplayer screen and join it.

you can also go into the squawkbox settings and in advanced, have it set to join the multiplayer session automatically. not sure if that works in FS2002 or if its an FS9/FSX feature only. try that. it should join it without you having to do anything but launch squawkbox. itll do the rest itself. after you set that setting, close squawkbox and restart it.

also ensure you have FSUIPC installed.
