Darrol Larrok 1140797 Posted February 1, 2010 at 01:30 AM Posted February 1, 2010 at 01:30 AM Is there a way to move the t/d on a wilco a320? I often need to use a SID or STAR that conflicts with it's T/D. I have no way of updating it's list of SIDS or STARS, since Navigraph's AIRAC doesn't come with TPs. What a bunch of acronyms! Charan Kumar Posted February 3, 2010 at 08:45 PM Posted February 3, 2010 at 08:45 PM The FMC calculates the T/D based on current configuration of the acft, so it is not fixed. The same STAR will give you different T/D depending on altitude, weight, ur current speed etc (and maybe winds, but I am not sure). What you can do is place forced restrictions on the STARs which will then re-establish the T/D and that can come in handy. If you already didn't know, to place a forced restriction, click on the RSK of the wpt, and enter the ALT and SPD restrictions in the L4 and R4 (IIRC) and hit "RETURN". That should take care of it. Darrol Larrok 1140797 Posted February 4, 2010 at 09:04 PM Author Posted February 4, 2010 at 09:04 PM Even when I put in the forced restrictions, the TD doesn't change.
Charan Kumar Posted February 4, 2010 at 09:21 PM Posted February 4, 2010 at 09:21 PM Even when I put in the forced restrictions, the TD doesn't change. That probably means the acft will still meet its restrictions from that same T/D point. It will point its nose downwards more but it will still get to where you ask it to go. If it's an ATC instruction you are trying to comply, then I don't think that is possible. The moment ATC advises you to change your atltitude during a STAR, the ATC instruction overrides any restrictions on the STAR, so you just follow that with the ALT and/or V/S knobs with the use of "exped" and/or "SPD" buttons as required. But I have a feeling you might be looking for something else!! May I ask why you are trying to change the T/D? What is the outcome you expect off of it? If there is a specific STAR and TP you are having trouble with, let us know so I (or someone) can try to explain better!! Cheers!! Darrol Larrok 1140797 Posted February 4, 2010 at 09:44 PM Author Posted February 4, 2010 at 09:44 PM It's just quite frustrating when I set the auto pilot to cross MULRR on the HYPER2 for KIAD(this is just one example) at 10000 and it is precedeb HYPER FL240 and followed by the next waypoint at 15000. Charan Kumar Posted February 4, 2010 at 10:35 PM Posted February 4, 2010 at 10:35 PM I am looking at the HYPER2 chart from Airnav here, and using my very limited chart reading skills, I only see one restriction there, which is MULLR at 10k/250kts. Someone else can confirm this. Your ALT for HYPER2 is incorrect and should not be FL240. In case you have forced the ALT at HYPER2 then remove it. Basically, once your full rte is up, put only restrictions that are needed, which includes not putting anything in HYPER and putting 10k 250kts at MULRR, that should take care of it. Let the FMC figure out how high it needs to cross HYPER. If you have ur origin-dest and rte, then maybe we can discuss which wpts need restriction and which ones don't. Cheers!! Darrol Larrok 1140797 Posted February 4, 2010 at 11:08 PM Author Posted February 4, 2010 at 11:08 PM Your ALT for HYPER2 is incorrect and should not be FL240. In case you have forced the ALT at HYPER2 then remove it. Cheers!! That's the problem. The wilco FMC ignores the revised MULRR altitude but won't change the TD or it's own computed path. Charan Kumar Posted February 4, 2010 at 11:12 PM Posted February 4, 2010 at 11:12 PM Ah ok, I see what you mean. Give me the rte you planned and I will try it tonight and if I get it to work, I will let you know what I did.
