Jeff Thomas Posted February 13, 2010 at 03:00 AM Posted February 13, 2010 at 03:00 AM What type of experience do you already have? Are you looking for specific PMDG instruction, or general flight instruction, or both? Jeff Thomas VP-IT https://joinava.org
John Llorens 1139627 Posted February 13, 2010 at 04:34 AM Author Posted February 13, 2010 at 04:34 AM Well, I already know how to takeoff, put in the heading and all that stuff, I can land an airplane, but its hard, I cant make touchdown everytime, like the back wheels land perfect and the plane goes up again a little and goes down. So I mostly know takeoff/landing. I need help getting known with the aircraft, starting it up from cold and dark, what thing is what. all that kind of stuff and some navigation. Thanks! Jeff Thomas Posted February 14, 2010 at 01:49 PM Posted February 14, 2010 at 01:49 PM I would start by reading the manuals for the 737 as they appear to be pretty good. http://www.precisionmanuals.com/pages/downloads/docs.html As for flying, I would check out ZLAX's pilot program: http://pilotcerts.laartcc.org/page/Home Hope this helps. Brett Lucas 812099 Posted February 18, 2010 at 12:17 AM Posted February 18, 2010 at 12:17 AM When is a good time for you John??? Feb. 22, 23 or the 24? I will instruct you, but you got to do some homework for me. I would like you to be comfortable with how to fly SID and STARS. I get all mine from http://dtpp.myairplane.com/ 2nd: I want you to look over the TITLE AND MENUS and SYSTEMS OPERATION PDF's. 3rd: download and install Southwest 737-700 liveries from PMDG http://www.precisionmanuals.com/pages/downloads/liveries.html Also, you never said what FS version, but since you are asking about the PMDG 737 it can only be FS9, which is a good thing. You are posting on VATSIM so I am [Mod - Happy Thoughts]uming you are familiar with squawkbox, thats good. We can do a flight from KSTL-KLAS. That will give us plenty of time to get used to the aircraft and its systems. The PMDG is not as complicated as say the MadDog, what you really need to master is the FMC, but I can teach you. Also, what do you use to build you flightplans, MSFS or FSBuild?? I use FSBuild. If you don't have that, its no big deal, I can email you the flightplan and show you where to put it. Also, download this file from avsim.net: kstlv1-1.zip That way we have the same scenery. One more thing, Teamspeak, download that so we can communicate via voice, I will set up the channel. If you can do that, I will take the time and get you from a dark and cold state, get your APU up and running, program your FMC, dep vis a SID, cruise, fly your STAR, prepare for and ILS landing, land, park and shut her down. Interested?? Just let me know!! Brett
