ID Status Check

Hi Guys,

I am wondering if there is a quick way to view the Division a person is registered to without using the ID Status Check via the website. I currently gather all info via this link: http://cert.vatsim.net/cert/vatsimnet/idstatus.php?cid=XXXXXX

That link, however does not show what division/region a user is registered to, I apologize in advance if this is information that is best kept secret.

Thanks!

Matt

I still personally think that we should have a script like this added to auto-tools. This way, divisions/regions will be able to get the data for visiting controllers and pilots that wish to be a part of their web services but are not in their division.

That's precisely what I am looking for. I can already view some of this info through the VATCAN site, but for guest controllers I have no clue. I also noticed a few students of mine are [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned to the incorrect division, and we don't find out until we attempt to post a promotion

Use the divdb.php script in auto-tools to determine those in your division (will then filter out those [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned to the wrong one). The way we do it, is when they're not in divdb but in our local systems they're flagged as having "left" to the membership department, so they can double check that. You can also check their VACC/FIR by using divdbfull.php (IIRC). But yup, visiting controllers is a pain in the rear when their details can never be downloaded by us

Any update/response to the issue presented within this post, from those upstairs?

Unless auto-tools gets opened up to the entire VATSIM community, it seems to make more sense to add the Division to the public CERT check.

Cheers!

Hi Luke,

I'm talking more in regards to the ability to get information about visiting controllers/non-divisional members that join our systems/websites etc. The ability to sync everyone's data from one central location is much better than having 10 or 20% of your members information "possibility incorrect" and therefore require someone to manually check their details.

Even if we aren't allowed to be given their information (like we are for divisional members) then we still have no method of confirmation the details they provided us.

I understand. I'm merely suggesting that your needs are shared by other groups, and a solution that meets everyone's needs would be best.

Cheers!

The long & short of it is, Auto-Tools will not be opened up to retrieve data for members outside your division. There are a multitude of security reasons for this, and I understand your frustration, but that is where it's going to remain.

Are there any plans to expose a member's division as part of the public CERT check?

Cheers!
