Aharon Dayan Posted February 25, 2010 at 05:52 PM Posted February 25, 2010 at 05:52 PM To organizers of the event called Clash of the Cargo Carriers, Regarding your coming event called Clash of the Cargo Carriers this Saturday the 27th, I just would like to notify you that Canadian Virtual airline (CVA) at http://www.canadianva.com which is one of the oldest operating virtual airlines in Canada (about 13 years old in business and going strong) will be challenging the virtual cargo airline giants Fed Ex, UPS, DHL, and Red Dog Airlines for dominance of cargo hauling service. To make all of you controllers' lives easier, I would like to let you know we will be using KCVG as airport of arrival from CYUL. You should expect between five and 20 pilots from CVA airline using CVA callsigns. Thank you for your attention in this matter. Karl Kornel 964857 Posted February 26, 2010 at 08:05 AM Posted February 26, 2010 at 08:05 AM Aharon, Thanks very much for the advance notification! I do not believe that CVA frequents Indy airspace very much, so please allow me to extend a helpful resource: In the past, I prepared a series of Airman's Information Publications (AIPs). The AIP for KCVG is located at http://kcvg.vzidartcc.org/. Although the AIP does include preferred routings for certain airports, we do not have any preferred routes for any Canadian airports, but will be happy to make one if needed! I believe that DHL will be flying in to KCVG as well. Please be [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ured that we will not be favoring one cargo airline over another, and if you would like to park at the DHL ramp at KCVG, we will certainly taxi you there, but we are unable to break up any fights that may take place in the pilot's lounge! Hoping to see you fly overhead, A. Karl Kornel - vZID C1, FE, and Mentor Smoke Bomb! POOF
Aharon Dayan Posted February 26, 2010 at 02:59 PM Author Posted February 26, 2010 at 02:59 PM Thanks Karl!!! CVA has the route prepared for their pilots who will depart from CYUL at 08:30 pm EST time zone and will arrive at your airport around 10:00 pm EST time zone depending on their airspeed. I will be using route: MSS J594 YYZ V104 ANCOL V443 FAILS V522 DJB J83 APE Regards, Aharon
Karl Kornel 964857 Posted February 26, 2010 at 05:49 PM Posted February 26, 2010 at 05:49 PM Hello again, I am glad to see that you have a route! I am not very familiar with Canadian airspace, so I would not necessarily come up with a good route. I do have one note though: We do not normally [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ign STARs to aircraft in flight. Therefore, if your route currently ends at APE, I would suggest that you file and fly either the CINCE6 or the TIGRR1 arrival. I think you can ignore the restriction on APE transitions. Good luck! A. Aharon Dayan Posted February 27, 2010 at 02:55 PM Author Posted February 27, 2010 at 02:55 PM Thanks Karl and Jean-Francios for kind words!! I hope I will arrive at KCVG before 10 pm EST deadline to be eligible for prize drawing!! Jean-Francois Desrosiers 1095625: We appreciate that you chose CYUL as your departure airport Actually the owner of Canadian Virtual (CVA) picked CYUL for CVA pilots:):):) But it was me who suggested and requested to the owner of CVA that the VA should challenge giant cargo virtual airlines in the cargo challenge contest and he liked the idea:):):) Aharon
