Alfredo Pacheco Jr 966120 Posted March 21, 2010 at 04:45 AM Posted March 21, 2010 at 04:45 AM Need help with missing airports. Here is the issue: Tried doing an FSeconomy flight. Flew to airport, it wasn't there. Logged off FS and reloaded to see what happened. The airport wasn't on the list. I checked FSC8 and FSnav, it was listed. But FS was not listing the airport at all. Something decided to remove it or hide it from view. I don't know if it could be a scenery, but if it is, it would have to be a large one. Here is what I know and what is effected: Missing airports so far from FS but listed on FSNav or FSC8: KCHO Airports not listed on FS, FSC or FSNav: W63, KCJR From what I can tell, it appears the state of Virginia is being messed with. Can a megascenery or large scenery file overide the default airports to the point that they don't exist? Could anyone verify if they have these airports listed in there FS? If so, could I get a link to any site that shows what each disc of FS contains so that I can manually insert the missing files. Kyle Ramsey 810181 Posted March 21, 2010 at 04:53 AM Posted March 21, 2010 at 04:53 AM FSEconomy uses the FS9 Airport DB. If you are using FSX or XPlane, the airports may be there but called something different. Regardless, FSE in the end uses the Lat/Lon of the airport so when you land and shut down at whatever your sim calls it, FSE will recognize it. The FSE forums are better suited for getting these answers. Kyle Ramsey
Alfredo Pacheco Jr 966120 Posted March 21, 2010 at 05:55 PM Author Posted March 21, 2010 at 05:55 PM I posted over at FSE and got a response. It appers that I am missing the AP927180.bgl file. I don't know what is caused this file to be missing, nor do I know if any other files are missing. I'm told that this and other files are in CD4. Also, it is recommended that I reinstall FS9. I don't know how difficult it could be to just manually install the entire scenery folder. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I also mentioned that I had issues with scenery taking minutes to load when flying and that times the sim would freeze with looping sound for minutes then load like I hit the pause button then unpaused. Not a good thing to experience during final or heavy traffic. It was mentioned a good defrag can help. But I have ultemate defrrag. When I run it, it crashes with a c++ runtime error. I did contact the support emaqil, but only got a respose saying they just found my email in there junk folder and to email them a file. Haven't heard from them since. So I'm stuck with not being able to defrag and get the best performance possible for my flight sim. I an just surrounded by drama. Yay.
