Shadows across control panel in virtual mode

Hi folks,

 

In virtual mode I get shadows falling across the control panel. It makes it difficult to see the radio frequencies etc. My vision is not as good as it used to be so I would like to solve this problem. In the regular cockpit view it is bright and very clear. I believe it is probably some "realism" adjustment I have to make but don't know how to fix. Thanks for any help offered.
