Chris Yates 814041 Posted October 8, 2005 at 09:29 PM Posted October 8, 2005 at 09:29 PM Hi all, The Essex mob are deserting Stansted and Luton tomorrow (Sunday) in favour of manning up Cambridge EGSC. We're offering it as a 'come and fly' event, but it will also be used as a training night. I've tried to invite the major flying clubs along, but if you're at a loose end tomorrow night and fancy something different, please consider giving us a try. VFR or IFR, you're welcome. Careful with what you fly. The runway isn't huge, but regularly takes the big tin, heading for Marshall's maintenance hangars, when they are light. All the best, Chris

Chris Yates 814041 Posted October 9, 2005 at 09:18 PM Author Posted October 9, 2005 at 09:18 PM Thanks to all who flew in tonight - we were very very busy at times, almost surprisingly busy, and were kept on our toes for most of the night. I think all had a superb evening, so thank you again.
Chris Yates 814041 Posted October 10, 2005 at 05:31 PM Author Posted October 10, 2005 at 05:31 PM Just a heads up to anyone who is interested or enjoyed last night and wants to do it again... Essex will be holding a monthly 'Cl[Mod - Happy Thoughts] G' night, alternating between manning one of the 3 airports we have outside controlled airspace - these include Cambridge EGSC, Norwich EGSH and Southend EGMC. They're all fairly similar with runway lengths, available parking and the sort of traffic they can accommodate. We'll post back when we have a firm date for our next event of this kind. Kind Regards. Peter Chapman 813123 Posted October 10, 2005 at 06:38 PM Posted October 10, 2005 at 06:38 PM Thanks to all the controllers on last night at Cambridge & Essex. It was a great night, especially for those like me who are new to VFR flying and are trying (and we can be very trying ) to improve our VFR skills. The approach to Cambridge was a bit daunting though with all those other aircraft around. Look forward to future events, especially if the venues can be rotated.
