Rahul Parkar Posted April 3, 2010 at 12:39 AM Posted April 3, 2010 at 12:39 AM Hey Guys, I Just made a new Situation file on TWRTrainer, And I can never use it because I get errors, yet my friend can use it just fine at any time... This is bugging me and I'm running Windows XP and running my computer on a DMZ. Any Ideas. Rahul Parkar "On second thoughts Nappa, catch it, catch it with your teeth" -- Vegeta Professional Nerd. Ross Carlson Posted April 3, 2010 at 01:44 AM Posted April 3, 2010 at 01:44 AM Can you use any situation files? Or is it just that one that gives the error? Rahul Parkar Posted April 3, 2010 at 12:15 PM Author Posted April 3, 2010 at 12:15 PM (edited) Hmmm Its all situation files that close up.... It shows a maximum of 5-6 aircraft of situation files that have 9/17 aircraft.... I check my CID and P[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word and they are fine..... This started happening after I got my I1.... could that have anything to do with it? Rahul Parkar Posted April 3, 2010 at 12:54 PM Author Posted April 3, 2010 at 12:54 PM (edited) Sorry for the third post, Nope, After making a quick check It is not my firewall.... I disabled it completely and had the same program.... Maybe there are Ports that arent opened properly on my DMZ "has happened before", which ports need to be open for TWRTrainer Edited April 3, 2010 at 02:04 PM by Guest Rahul Parkar "On second thoughts Nappa, catch it, catch it with your teeth" -- Vegeta Professional Nerd. Rahul Parkar Posted April 3, 2010 at 01:03 PM Author Posted April 3, 2010 at 01:03 PM Wow thats really weird..... Just had another try.... Sorry 4th post.... But after it closed the socket, I opened the air file again, and all the aircraft showed up.... They then start disappearing off my screen again. And more socket errors continue etc. etc. any ideas? Ross Carlson Posted April 3, 2010 at 02:13 PM Posted April 3, 2010 at 02:13 PM TWRTrainer uses the same port as any other VATSIM client, which is 6809, and it doesn't need to be forwarded since it's an outgoing connection. If it's not a firewall issue, and you know your CID and p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word are right, and you have at least an S3 rating, then I have no clue what could be causing it. Rahul Parkar Posted April 3, 2010 at 06:51 PM Author Posted April 3, 2010 at 06:51 PM Wow.... Luca Benelli Posted April 4, 2010 at 08:48 AM Posted April 4, 2010 at 08:48 AM As Ross wrote the software i doubt there's anybody knowing more about it than him And as you are the only one experiencing it i doubt there's much which can be done, but i'll have a look. Rahul Parkar Posted April 4, 2010 at 10:31 AM Author Posted April 4, 2010 at 10:31 AM Hmmm, I know this is a long shot, But could there be an issue with my account somewhere lying inside the VATSIM database.... I know its long but maybe something isnt right inside the database and Sweatbox isnt liking me for it?? Luca Benelli Posted April 4, 2010 at 10:43 AM Posted April 4, 2010 at 10:43 AM if it worked before becoming an INS i don't see a reason why it should be a problem now. Have you the chance to test it from an another computer using your account? Luca Benelli - C3 - P2
Rahul Parkar Posted April 4, 2010 at 12:01 PM Author Posted April 4, 2010 at 12:01 PM Wow.... It does work on my TWRTrainer on my Win7 Comp..... Thats really weird.... Any ideas as to why it would not work on my XP Comp? Rahul Parkar "On second thoughts Nappa, catch it, catch it with your teeth" -- Vegeta Professional Nerd. Rahul Parkar Posted April 4, 2010 at 12:45 PM Author Posted April 4, 2010 at 12:45 PM Well, On further examination, ACSIM works just fine... This is a TWRTrainer problem only. Michael Pike Posted April 4, 2010 at 02:51 PM Posted April 4, 2010 at 02:51 PM I had this issue once before when someone in the UK had a large number of aircraft connected. There seemed to be a limit on the number of aircraft in range. Could this be a factor?? (And I'd be interested to know if there is a limit). Rahul Parkar Posted April 4, 2010 at 03:04 PM Author Posted April 4, 2010 at 03:04 PM Hmmm im not sure, Seeing as when I disconnected my aircraft, My friend could connect them just fine (same situation) and my vis was 10 miles..... But i'm not too sure. Rahul Parkar "On second thoughts Nappa, catch it, catch it with your teeth" -- Vegeta Professional Nerd. Ryan Geckler Posted April 4, 2010 at 04:40 PM Posted April 4, 2010 at 04:40 PM I know that I get these errors when another aircraft with the same callsign is already generated on sweatbox. Rahul Parkar Posted April 4, 2010 at 05:05 PM Author Posted April 4, 2010 at 05:05 PM Another thing I noticed is that this only happens on my XP computer (My computer) My Dad's computer which is running Win7 does not have this problem, Yet we are both running the same antivirus etc.... Has Anyone else on XP Had this problem or seen this problem before...? Best regards, Rahul Parkar "On second thoughts Nappa, catch it, catch it with your teeth" -- Vegeta Professional Nerd. Rahul Parkar Posted April 4, 2010 at 05:20 PM Author Posted April 4, 2010 at 05:20 PM I Made an error before, I am not getting "Winsock Errors" After a while and it keeps closing the socket host, when I load the Air file, It gives me a "Run-time error '40006': Wrong Protocol or connection state for the requested transaction or request" Maybe that would help? Rahul Parkar Posted April 4, 2010 at 08:42 PM Author Posted April 4, 2010 at 08:42 PM Fixed - Had to reformat my HDD anyway, and that seemed to do the trick. Ross Carlson Posted April 4, 2010 at 09:41 PM Posted April 4, 2010 at 09:41 PM I wonder if somehow TWRTrainer was blocked from opening 'net connections. That's the only thing I can think of if ACSim worked with the same credentials.
