Hello there. Newbie here.

I was wanting to just listen to VATSIM atc for a while as I havn't plucked up the courage to fly online just yet I read in another post that its easier to listen to ATC by using Euroscope rather than VRC, which I duly downloaded and installed.

I have no problem connecting to VATSIM using VRC, but still cant listen to ATC, so thats why I thought Euroscope may be much easier in setting up to listen.

On launching Euroscope, In the message box I get the message "Failed to load VATSIM data" and "Failed to load hu_euroscope sector providors.txt"

In the connect dialog box, I put in all requested information, Cert/P[Mod - Happy Thoughts]/Call sign/Real Name/OBS/OBS and press connect. Get the connecting to VATSIM for 20 secs then the connect button reappears

Ver 3.1d I am obviously missing a major step, but have looked through the "Getting Connected" Page, and seem to have done what is required.

Would any kind person be able to help me out

Thanks Chris Johnson, Perth, West Australia

1, How are you connecting, wireless router, LAN or internet Dongle?

2, Have you allowed Euroscope to access the web through your firewall and anti virus?

3, on your General Settings dialogue box - page 2 do you have ?

Vatsim status URL --- http://status.vatsim.net/

Who is online URL --- http://www.klain.net/sidata/vatsim-data.txt

4, What sector file are you using?

I know that http://vatpac.org/cms/ use Euroscope so maybe a read through there homepage and forum for the sector files may help

non-discript self importance signature

Thanks again,

The learning curve is steep in the beginning but once you get the hang of it it's an amazing program
