Ross Bristo 1010003 Posted May 24, 2010 at 10:24 AM Posted May 24, 2010 at 10:24 AM Hi All, I have a problem i've not come across before. The TMA in the FIR i control in has 2 sectors that the TMA can be split in to, the problem is with the east sector, because (from my testing) it has the same frequency as the band boxed sector. As i said, the east sector and the bandboxed sector have the same frequency, this should not matter because (as far as i know) ES doesn't use the freq but the ID in the POSITION area. What happens is that if i log on the bandboxed sector, it works, however if i log on the east sector the bandboxed sector lights up, all sector ownerships are correct (to my knowledge) and the only way to resolve the problem is to change the frequency. Surly I've made a mistake somewhere. Here is my sector definitions SECTOR:SCO:0:25000 OWNER:SCO BORDER:SCOE_PXE:SCOW_PXE:SCOW_PXW_CON:SCOW_P600:SCOW_PXW:SCOW_MANW:SCOW_MANE:SCOE_MANE SECTOR:SCOE:0:25000 OWNER:SCE BORDER:SCOE_PXE:SCO_SPLIT:SCOE_MANE SECTOR:SCOW:0:25000 OWNER:SCW BORDER:SCO_SPLIT:SCOW_PXE:SCOW_PXW_CON:SCOW_P600:SCOW_PXW:SCOW_MANW:SCOW_MANE and here are the position entries (with the error freq): SCO_CTR:Scottish TMA:126.300:SCO:SCO:SCO:CTR:-:-:3601:3617 SCO_W_CTR:Scottish TMA:124.820:SCW:SCW:SCO:CTR:-:-:3601:3617 SCO_E_CTR:Scottish TMA:126.300:SCE:SCE:SCO:CTR:-:-:3601:3617
Stephan Boerner 945550 Posted May 24, 2010 at 10:28 AM Posted May 24, 2010 at 10:28 AM Your mistake is most likely, that you should not create a seperate bandboxed sector. You have SCOE and SCOW. If a controller goes bandboxed, he simply takes both sectors, not an extra one. So in your case get rid of SCO and keep it with SCOE and SCOW, where E seems to be supposed to go bandboxed (however it is always better to have both sectors capable of bandboxing vice versa). Ross Bristo 1010003 Posted May 24, 2010 at 10:37 AM Author Posted May 24, 2010 at 10:37 AM Thanks Stephan, I knew i must be wrong ] However, im still getting the problem, if i log on the east sector, the whole TM lights up. Any idea? Stephan Boerner 945550 Posted May 24, 2010 at 10:47 AM Posted May 24, 2010 at 10:47 AM You can not log on to the East sector only, if it has the same frequency as SCO. Currently the frequency is the important part, the callsign can be whatever ... Ross Bristo 1010003 Posted May 24, 2010 at 10:54 AM Author Posted May 24, 2010 at 10:54 AM I think i understand you Stephan, What you're saying is that the East sector should not be online on its own anyway? And that the freq is important?
Martin Bergin 931070 Posted May 24, 2010 at 10:59 AM Posted May 24, 2010 at 10:59 AM (edited) Ross, You dont need to define the SCO sector/positon as it is the same as SCO_E_CTR, remember it is the frequency that is important. See below. If you log in as SCO_*_CTR and a frequency of 126.300 you will control all sectors [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned to SCE, including the west sector. However if West logs on you will no longer control his sector. SECTOR:SCOE:0:25000 OWNER:SCE:SCW BORDER:SCOE_PXE:SCO_SPLIT:SCOE_MANE SECTOR:SCOW:0:25000 OWNER:SCW:SCE BORDER:SCO_SPLIT:SCOW_PXE:SCOW_PXW_CON:SCOW_P600:SCOW_PXW:SCOW_MANW:SCOW_MANE Edited May 24, 2010 at 11:05 AM by Guest
Stephan Boerner 945550 Posted May 24, 2010 at 10:59 AM Posted May 24, 2010 at 10:59 AM You have two choices: If you want the sectors to be online on their own, you will need 3 frequencies: SCO_CTR:Scottish TMA:1xx.xx0:SCO:SCO:SCO:CTR:-:-:3601:3617SCO_W_CTR:Scottish TMA:124.820:SCW:SCW:SCO:CTR:-:-:3601:3617 SCO_E_CTR:Scottish TMA:126.300:SCE:SCE:SCO:CTR:-:-:3601:3617 Then the sectors should look like: SECTOR:SCOE:0:25000OWNER:SCE:SCO BORDER:SCOE_PXE:SCO_SPLIT:SCOE_MANE SECTOR:SCOW:0:25000 OWNER:SCW:SCO BORDER:SCO_SPLIT:SCOW_PXE:SCOW_PXW_CON:SCOW_P600:SCOW_PXW:SCOW_MANW:SCOW_MANE If bandboxed is the normal use and you only want to be able to split, make it: SCO_W_CTR:Scottish TMA:124.820:SCW:SCW:SCO:CTR:-:-:3601:3617SCO_E_CTR:Scottish TMA:126.300:SCE:SCE:SCO:CTR:-:-:3601:3617 SECTOR:SCOE:0:25000 OWNER:SCE:SCW BORDER:SCOE_PXE:SCO_SPLIT:SCOE_MANE SECTOR:SCOW:0:25000 OWNER:SCW:SCE BORDER:SCO_SPLIT:SCOW_PXE:SCOW_PXW_CON:SCOW_P600:SCOW_PXW:SCOW_MANW:SCOW_MANE Then both frequencies take control over the complete TMA unless the other one comes online. Ross Bristo 1010003 Posted May 24, 2010 at 04:08 PM Author Posted May 24, 2010 at 04:08 PM Hi, I understand now. The split would never be on-line without the other, so the east split would never be on-line without a west so my current set up is fine. Right now changing the frequency is not an option.
