Trent Hopkinson Posted May 30, 2010 at 12:01 AM Posted May 30, 2010 at 12:01 AM As Discussed on this thread, World Airways contract with Sonair for the "Houston Express" charter, a direct flight from Houston, Texas to Luanda, Angola may soon be coming to an end, reducing by yet one more, the Regular P[Mod - Happy Thoughts]enger Flights that MD-11 aircraft operate. Even though I have flown this route previously, over this coming June I want to fly one more simulated flight on this route, hopefully before the World Airways MD11 is replaced on this route before an Atlas Air 747 takes it over. On the day of writing, the flight is still being operated by World Airways, with the latest flight being just a few hours ago, Saturday 29th of May, as per - http://flightaware.com/live/flight/WOA1000 Happily the entire route has been captured by Vataware on this date, along with a possible return route from last weeks flight at http://flightaware.com/live/flight/WOA1001/history/20100522/2235Z/FNLU/KIAH A trip report from a p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]engers-eye-view (with pictures!) can be found on the flyertalk.com forum. The Flightplan, as per Flightaware is 6030nm long, and depending on winds will take from 12 to 14 hours to complete. Robbie Nauffts 1045788 Posted June 3, 2010 at 03:01 PM Posted June 3, 2010 at 03:01 PM Too cool man! I enjoyed watching your flight. It's time for me to finally see where a 3900nm operational range will take me in the 757. “Aviation is not inherently dangerous, but it is terribly unforgiving.”
