Brendan Chen 943434 Posted June 6, 2010 at 12:15 AM Posted June 6, 2010 at 12:15 AM Hi guys, I've recently started to use TWRTrainer to train some new up-to tower position controllers, except I've found that the aircraft I'm controlling (whats on the gnd) can only taxi one way, for example taxiway A is the main taxiway, and there is runway 08/26; For runway 08, all the A/C behave as they should, but when it comes to runway 26, the aircraft at holding point 26 or near, you tell it to taxi along A to 26 (cmd: taxi a 26), it backtracks along A towards 08 and stops somewhere... This also take place for A/C at the gates, tell it to taxi via D, A to rwy 26 (cmd: taxi d a 26), it would taxi out of D and get on A going towards 08... Also an aircraft on landing may p[Mod - Happy Thoughts] a certain point on the runway, and if I tell it to taxi via A, E (or D) to the gates, it would just backtrack the runway, but during that time other aircraft is on short finals, therefore I am forced to delete the A/C. I've looked through the KBOS examples, and docs online, can't find any problem with my apt file (but I am suspecting it would be an error somewhere in my apt file). This issue is limiting the training, so any help would be appreciated. Cheers Brendan Chen VATPRC Tech Support You make the difference!

Brendan Chen 943434 Posted June 6, 2010 at 05:08 AM Author Posted June 6, 2010 at 05:08 AM I'm not using the standard aerodrome chart, as there are no existing scenery that fits with the real world aerodrome data. This image is a screenshot of the sector file, and this will be used to control aircraft. As for the real airport chart, you can get it here: http://www.vatprc.org/cms/index.php?option=com_docman&task=cat_view&gid=40&Itemid=101&lang=en Brendan Chen VATPRC Tech Support You make the difference! Carl Stallone 925048 Posted June 6, 2010 at 07:09 AM Posted June 6, 2010 at 07:09 AM Taxiways are identified in the airport file, as you suspected. However, the order of the waypoints in the taxiway also define the order the aircraft will follow to taxi. The coordinates must be in order for the aircraft to taxi correctly. Ross Carlson Posted June 6, 2010 at 04:01 PM Posted June 6, 2010 at 04:01 PM I wonder if you have an old version of TWRTrainer. The first version didn't correctly handle the situation where a taxiway connects to both ends of a runway. I'm pretty sure I fixed this in a later version, though. Can you post links for the apt file and the sector file, so that I can test this out on my development computer? Ross Carlson Posted June 8, 2010 at 02:29 AM Posted June 8, 2010 at 02:29 AM Yeah, looks like you have an old version. These taxi commands work as expected for me, using your apt file: taxi e a 26 taxi e a 8 Your regional or divisional director should have the latest version.
