FAQ update for new members - Corrections Needed

Your help appreciated!

 

We have just started updating the 2 year old PRC FAQ. In the interest of time, and getting the most accurate answers possible, I am asking our experienced members, to look through the draft and offer corrections. The new FAQ, when updates are complete, will be hosted here at forums.vatsim.net in the Pilot Software Help forum. New items will be added and edits made on an ongoing basis.

Suggested changes will be reviewed daily and the draft will be updated as required.

In sticky post 3 you have this :

 

Always check to make sure the pilot or controller you are chatting up is not too busy.

 

Shouldn't that be "chatting to"?

 

Don't want to know what you were thinking when you typed that

As someone new to FS, VATSIM, and this commumity, may I add a suggestion that I wish I had seen when first joining?

 

This is what I wish I had seen in big red letters: " Before joining VATSIM or any other part of the Flight Sim Community,Please make sure you fully understand how Microsoft FlightSimulator works, know all the key commands and have a basic understanding of navigating."

 

I, and I know from reading alot of posts in many different forums,alot of others thought they can buy MFS, get online, join VATSIM and learn as you go.This is what I did, I am not a rw pilot .What happens, is that there is so much to learn from so many different sources, that it is overwhelming at times.

 

If the purpose of the update besides the obvious, is to maybe decrease the amount of posts from new members writing in capitols that they are lost, or dont have a clue, or they cant find this or that or how do I ?Posting the warning I quoted might help.Either that, start a different section in the forums for Microsoft FS issues and tutorials. Just my $.02 cents. Thanks for listening. Be well.
