Can anybody help me with this dilemma. Thanks. You're describing an issue with the pilot client you're using. This is the wrong forum for help with your pilot client. If you're using Xsuawkbox you'll have to go to the Xsquawbox Help forum for support for that client. If you're using FSInn you'll have to go to the FSinn Help forum for help with that pilot client. If you're using Squawkbox you'll have to go to the Squawkbox Help forum for that client. If you're using Squawkgear, it's not officially supported on VATSIM yet. You'll have to go to the Flight Gear forum for help with that client. Again, if you're using FSinn, follow the steps provided in the Please Read sticky and you won't have any problems with that client. At a glance, you probably don't realize you have to set a PTT key or joystick button and would need to hold that key or button while you talk. Or as the controller said, you'll probably have to just simply tune your cockpits radio dial to the proper frequency/channel and talk. Starting out by ensuring that you’ve installed the pilot client correctly might be the best start, so you should do that via the pilot client support forum. Then you might want to test the VATSIM waters by going over the steps provided in the VATSIM Quick Start Guide ( http://www.vatsim.net/pilots/quickstart ). It suggests that you start out by listening at a terminal. If you listened to the other controllers and pilots, you’d at least know that you’re in the right channel. Welcome to VATSIM! -- L. For FSInn/VATSIM issues, please test the FSInn Installation sticky and linked FAQ. It really works!
