Hello, VATSIM community!

I am a new VATSIM member with ~15hrs logged so far, mostly all VFR GA flying since I have a ASEL certificate.

I am studying for IFR, but no true need to have at this point in my professional career path, so I will probably stick with the freedom of VFR for some time to come.

Being moved by the thrill of learning & embracing ATP flight procedures, I unwisely joined a VA without a clue on the developmental curve & maturation requirements [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ociated with such a capricious adventure. I have learned a great deal from several extremely well-produced videos on SID & STAR flight tutorials. I would like to start off on twin-engine, turboprop planes using IFR & then migrate to JET from that point.

I have procured several planes ranging from Wilco, Carenado, PMDG and others, so hardware in the hanger shouldn't be an issue! (grin)

If anyone can [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ist with more information on getting started for VA flight including additional tutorials, videos, or even "multiplayer CFI" [Mod - Happy Thoughts]istance, please advise.

I aspire to work hard to learn and contribute to any VA that I join, since I take responsibility & commitment very seriously. Quite honestly, I was shocked that I have

received no direction or information from my current VA in terms of flight training and readiness development with green recruits. I don't blame the VA, but I was honest on my application about having zero VA/ATP experience, but tremendous willingness to learn, however I have received nothing to date.

If anyone can [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ist me in my VA career path development, I would truly appreciate it.

Recommendations for alternative VAs that will help embrace the new pilot would be welcomed likewise.

Thanks!!!

Andy

time to find a better VA

a VA that requires pilot training but then offers no [Mod - Happy Thoughts]istance to its trainees, thats the type of stuff thats laughable guess they want everyone else to do the work for them

i prefer not to pitch VA's on the forum, always turns into a mine is better then yours deal. go to vatsim.net then go to the VA list. youll find them there. theres several that offer pilot training and im sure youll find one that fits you there.

Thanks for the great advice. I will continue to learn through training and find a better VA in the process....

If you are looking for a very professional virtual airline, then I would highly recommend British Airways Virtual. They are the most arguably the best virtual airline around, they have many materials you could need for every flight and the forums are very helpful.

Always moving forward,

Jamie

Hi Andy,

You should look over the VA/VSOA partner list at http://www.vatsim.net/pilots/v-airlines/va-vasoapartners/

Look over their website, contact their staff etc. to determine what features they have and if they meet your needs.
