Daniel Churchman 1050104 Posted August 12, 2010 at 02:50 PM Posted August 12, 2010 at 02:50 PM A few of us over at CCC have been flying a Pan Am 1947 Around the World "Connie" route. I noticed [Aug 15 1700-2000z]Abu Dhabi - Bahrain City Hopping and that the Bahrain featured airport is OBBI - Bahrain International. The next leg of our AtW recreation ends at OEDF (Dahahran - King Fahd Intl.), 47nm West of OBBI. So we have scheduled our next leg to get us to OEDF during the "City Hopping" event. Think you can handle about 6.5 hours in a prop doing about 220 TAS? If so, grab it and get set. A Connie would be great, but any prop, preferably of similar vintage, is just fine. Our route is 1454nm, so just be sure you have the range. Here is our flight plan: Wheels up LTBA - Istanbul at 1300z. ETA OEDF 1930z. Suggested route: LTBA YAA1N YAA UL614 EZS UP975 MUTAG L417 LOVEK L602 ITBIT R784 MOBIS M320 DUSTA OEDF If you don't have an FMC, or you can't get the GPS to accept that route, try it without the airways, that is: LTBA YAA EZS MUTAG LOVEK ITBIT MOBIS DUSTA OEDF If that still doesn't work, try asking MS to create a VOR to VOR route for you. Lastly, if you want to fly something faster (or slower), just modify your departure accordingly. Hope to see a few more at Istanbul on Sunday. Will be very fun giving the controllers some slowbies to deal with; though we won't be in their hair too much.
