Hi All

After spending alot of frustrating hours trying to keep sector files up to date I have written a little app to [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ist in this regard.

The application will take PSS files from the AIRAC and apply them to a given sector file. All you need to do is provide the "area" that needs to be updated. The area is defined by entering top left lon/lat and botom right lon/lat positions. Lon/lat is entered in decimal minutes with (-) sign for the West & South positions.

VOR, NDB, Fixes, Airports and airways are all updated. Invalid airways will be deleted and replaced with valid ones. For VOR/NDB and Fixes, a comment is added if the field is invalid.

If you would like to give it a bash, you are welcome to use, however :- NO GUARANTEE is offered (Make sure you have a backup).

www.vatsaf.com

Then Click on Downloads --> ATC Downloads.

Enjoy

David

Sure, Dave, but it is also great to have up to date NAV-data in the sector-file, since many - including me - would like to permantly display certain VORs, NDBs and Intersections.

Sounds like a great tool David. Thanks for sharing it!

I seem not to be able to open a file in the PSS file select. It returns C:\\ if I point to C:\PSSVOR.dat

I placed my PSS files there for easy debugging but I tried many locations with no success. I'm running windows 7 x64.

Any idea?

Jean-Frederik

I posted previous a tad early.

I installed onto 64 bit system and see you problem. Quick fix is simply delete the extra \, so you just left with c:\

I will work on working out the bug, but in the meantime the above works fine.

If you have other issues, do let me know so I can [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ist

Regards

David

Thanks for your reply David.

I did specify manually C:\PSSVOR.dat but the error "Please specify PSS file" appeared. However after a few attempts without really changing anything it would accept it. I got it now! Cheers!

Works thank you.

Now regarding the program's purpose more deeply, I can only get VOR and NDB to be imported. PSSWPT.dat, PSSAWY.dat and PSSAPT.dat are present in the same folder.
