Why am I unable to connect?

i've sucessfully installed xsquawkbox, i can find it in my plug-in menue, but whenever i enter my connecting data (user-id and p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word) i receive a failure notice and am disconnected.

Try selecting a different server from the popup menu.

i'm receiving the "disconnected" message only upon my first trial to connect, but i don't think any other chosen server does the trick.

 

if i'd be really connected, the"file flightplan" option would be available in the popup menu, right?

I'd double-check the obvious ones, like your firewall settings, and that your certificate ID and p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word are correct. You're using your VATSIM certificate number—not your name—for the ID field?

 

And yeah, you'll be able to file a plan if you're connected.

Also, be sure you haven't changed the port number from the default of 6809.
