Lee James Posted August 31, 2010 at 12:17 PM Posted August 31, 2010 at 12:17 PM Hello, Can someone with Mod access please move this to the correct location as they see fit? Thanks. ******************* British Airways Virtual in [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ociation with VATSIM UK & VATASIA Presents . . . . OverNighter #5 The Singapore Sling! SATURDAY-SUNDAY 9th-10th OCTOBER 2010 Departures from London Heathrow & Gatwick From 19:00z Welcome to the fifth of our ever popular OVERNIGHTER Online Fly-In events - and the second event for 2010! Once again, we go "Long Haul" out to the Far East of Asia and this time, into the once former British colony of Singapore, a small but economically powerful island country, sitting about an hour south of Kuala Lumpur. BAV pilots will be departing from Heathrow early in the evening of Saturday 9th October to embark on the 12 hour 40 minute non-stop flight to Changi International Airport, located over partially reclaimed land on the east coast of Singapore. Our flight will replicate the British Airways real world BA011 service that leaves Heathrow at 20:25z and then touches down around 09:05z (16:05 in the afternoon, local time in Singapore). Because of the expected take up of slots for this event, I will be scheduling departures from London Gatwick airport as well as Heathrow, over an event time of three hours with 5-minute slot intervals - giving a total of 74 slots available from both airports. This one will be a real challenge for all our pilots who take part, both veteran long haulers and the new flyers who are just joining us for the first time. With the recent release of the highly realistic ImagineSim Singapore scenery, the time is right to fly this epic trip! Departure Slots will begin from 19:00z to 22:00z from both airports, to give those BAV pilots who fly on VATSIM a decent chance of getting a slot. VATSIM UK and VATASIA will be contacted to provide live, real time ATC on our departure from the UK and arrival into Singapore the next morning. We will also try to arrange as much enroute ATC as possible. Its gonna be tough....! Can you stay awake....? We'll see....! Mark your calenders and free up this weekend! ***************** May I hereby formally request ATC facilties over Singapore for our arrival into Changi? Flights will begin arriving around 06:30z (13:30 local Singapore time) and over about three hours or so. Any ATC over Northwest Malaysia and India would be good too if available. So far, with SLOTS only having been open for 24 hours or so, we have nearly 60 flight bookings.
