Chris Renne 818571 Posted October 27, 2005 at 09:53 PM Posted October 27, 2005 at 09:53 PM Hey guys, As I'm in the midst of planning some events and reorganizing our regional nights, I wanted to get a sense of when you guys do your most flying (whether for a VA or GA) on FS. For example, I personally do most of my controling Friday nights and flying on Saturdays. Is this weekend-oriented flight time common for everybody or do a lot of people fly on the week too? Tom Meyer 944876 Posted October 27, 2005 at 10:13 PM Posted October 27, 2005 at 10:13 PM Until football season is over and I don't have to work so much on the weekends, all of my flying and controlling is during the week. It would be nice to get something going during week days. I realize this will be a tough task, as many people work during the day, but it would still be nice. Good luck with your plans, and congratulations on the promotion.
Joshua Ridderhoff 873800 Posted October 27, 2005 at 11:19 PM Posted October 27, 2005 at 11:19 PM Chris, Great question! While I don't get to fly often these days thanks to my real-world schedule and controlling, when I do get to fly it's typically on the weekends although I'm not a stranger to weekday flying either. One factor that affects how much weekday flying I get in is daylight, as I'm a GA pilot and do most of my work VFR. Now that the days are getting shorter, by the time I make it home from work there's not much daylight left and virtual VFR flying at night just doesn't have the same draw as during the day. So, more of my flying time is shifting back to the weekends now. Theodore Martin 898312 Posted November 1, 2005 at 04:18 AM Posted November 1, 2005 at 04:18 AM Most of my flying is done on weekends in the morning. I also fly late night on weekdays since I am somewhat of a "night owl." On week nights I will start anywhere between 9pm and 11pm. Every now and then if I leave the office on time I will sneak in a flight at 6pm. Ted
