I am updating my sector file and am having troubles interpreting the airport co-ordinates on the aerodrome charts. Sectorfiles require co-ordinates as N050.03.14.450 W097.02.23.780 = North 50 degrees, 3 minutes, 14.450 seconds lattitude; west 97 degrees, 2 minutes, 23.78 seconds longitude. On my reference aerodrome chart, the airport co-ordinates are listed as N50 03.38 W97 01.95. I am misinterpreting this as N050.03.38.000 W97.01.01.350. If I use my interpretation as airport co-ordinates in my sector file, it appears no where close to where it is on the charts. I chalk it up to misinterpretation and translation of the chart's co-ordinates. How does N50 03.38 W97 01.95 translate? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Follow the link above.
