New Install, New to VATSIM

I aborted an install of FSInn not knowing what networks to select when presented a list. I want to use VATSIM. The manual said to check Net1 but Net1 was not presented. I reloaded windows so uninstall is ok.

 

What network to choose for VATSIM?

 

Additionaly, I am looking for a mentor that might work with me(via email or boards) getting setup for VATSIM and coach me thru a first flight. In real life, I flight instruct. It is the software setup and use that is challenging me.

 

I will be grateful for any new bee advice.

At the top of the forum you will see two posts, both which give you detailed steps and some known bug fixes and work around and all other information you need to know about FSinn installation and connection to VATSIM. They even have a step by step tutorial video in there. Download VATSpy, which tells you who is online around the world and how long they have been online, and you can connect at those airports/areas and request services.

 

Unlike real world (r/w) you will not see full coverage on VATSIM. And, higher position controllers will cover their respective lower positions too when they are not available, meaning, TWR will cover DEL and GND for that airport if they are not online, Approach will provide, DEL/GND/TWR for all airports under his/her area and CTR will do the same including providing Approach and Departure services for the entire airspace. All this is explained in the http://www.vatsim.net/prc section. Give it a quick read, it will certainly come in handy.
