Board of Governors Roger Curtiss Posted September 28, 2010 at 06:56 PM Board of Governors Posted September 28, 2010 at 06:56 PM I recently recalibrated my flight hardware CH Yoke, TQ and Pedals using FSUIPC to control all but aileron and elevator axes. I calibrated all axes in the TQ and Pedals and they appear to be responding correctly. However, I find that when I advance the TQ throttle to max power the engine will only respond to about 80% power and does so regardless of whether I use the TQ control or keyboard inputs. The idle value is fine it is just unable to achieve max power. I went to look at the CFG file and found two files listed. One is labeled fs9.cfg and contains the full config selections. It is listed as file type text docomeent. The other file is labeled fs9 but file type shows it to be a CFG file. This file contained only some of the listed values from the fs9.cfg file. I renamed that one (the fs9 file), went back in to FS9 and the problem was still there. When I returned to the file listings I found a new fs9 file. Its content was: [MAIN] Location=382,170,1038,706 I am unclear as to what that file means and reluctant to change any values anywhere until I have a better grasp of the situation. I am also at a loss as to how to regain full power on the throttle axis. And yes, I did go into the FS joystick [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ignments and verified that the yoke throttle control is disabled. Lennart Vedin Posted September 29, 2010 at 01:14 PM Posted September 29, 2010 at 01:14 PM Regarding the cfg-file. There is only one fs9 cfg file. The file name is "fs9.cfg" (if extension .cfg is displayed or not depends on Windows Explorer options and registering). Any other files may be backup. When you start FS9, FS9 will look for fs9.cfg . If FS9 not find the fs9.cfg , FS9 will create a new default fs9.cfg with same contain as when you do first install FS9 on your computer. Always saving a copy of fs9.cfg before make changes is good. You may try edit fs9.cfg with a text editor such as Notepad. All FS9 joystick calibrations are available. Or you may re-calibrate the throttle, but try calibrate by NOT put throttle to maximum (only to 80%) during calibration. / Lennart Vedin /
