Michael Eamer Posted October 17, 2010 at 01:27 PM Author Posted October 17, 2010 at 01:27 PM Thanks for your reply, The only thing I do is start x-plane, park at a gate, click on plugins>XSquawkbox>Connect and I get the notification about my CID being incorrect. I can't see anywhere where I can enter my name or CID. This must have been done previously, do I need to start over the entire process to enter my CID properly? Surely you get the Connect dialog that pops up before you get the error msg? You should see something like this when you select Connect... from the menu: /Users/michaeleamer/Desktop/Screen shot 2010-10-17 at 12.05.00 PM.png/Users/michaeleamer/Desktop/Screen shot 2010-10-17 at 12.18.37 PM.png /Users/michaeleamer/Desktop/Screen shot 2010-10-17 at 12.19.37 PM.png /Users/michaeleamer/Desktop/Screen shot 2010-10-17 at 12.21.04 PM.png /Users/michaeleamer/Desktop/Screen shot 2010-10-17 at 12.18.37 PM.png The above is the various combinations I have tried /Users/michaeleamer/Desktop/Screen shot 2010-10-17 at 12.24.45 PM.png The above is what my XSquawkbox login window looks like /Users/michaeleamer/Desktop/Screen shot 2010-10-17 at 12.24.09 PM.png The above is the error notice I get. Having said that, just compare yours to what I posted above, replacing the Callsign, Real Name, ID (this is where your VATSIM CID goes) and P[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word, as well as the Model, Airline and Livery fields with the applicable ones for you and your flight. Michael Eamer Posted October 17, 2010 at 09:41 PM Author Posted October 17, 2010 at 09:41 PM Hi Jordan, The window I get when I click "connect" is exactly the same as yours. Here is how I fill in the information: Callsign: WJA5658 Real Name: Michael Eamer Server: USA-N.vatsim.net Port: 6809 ID: 1166514 P[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word: ****** Model: B737:BOEING:737-700.737-700 B737 Airline B737 (Custom/unknown B737 Livery: Generic I also tried with Real Name: 1166514 Either way it does not work. I am trying to fly a Westjet airlines 737 with the Westjet livery but I'm not offered the option to get that in the window the way you got yours under Jazz. Would that have something to do with it? The aircraft is freeware, a Boeing 737/800 available via X-Plane.Org and it works very well when flown offline. I have it under the Westjet paint scheme, one of the many livery options available for it I appreciate your help, thanks!
Jordan Krushen 1135174 Posted October 17, 2010 at 09:48 PM Posted October 17, 2010 at 09:48 PM Callsign: WJA5658 Real Name: Michael Eamer Server: USA-N.vatsim.net Port: 6809 ID: 1166514 P[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word: ****** Model: B737:BOEING:737-700.737-700 B737 Airline B737 (Custom/unknown B737 Livery: Generic I also tried with Real Name: 1166514 Either way it does not work. It shouldn't no. That's a discussion for another day The error you're getting is a bad username (ID) / p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word error, so given that you seem to have the right ID, it should be the p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word that's wrong. Just in case, though, try selecting everything in the ID field and hitting delete and backspace several times to make sure you don't have any extra spaces in the field, and re-type the p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word as well, making sure you don't have caps lock set. To double-check your p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word, try going here: http://cert.vatsim.net/vatsimnet/statcheck.html and following the instructions. Real Name should in fact be your name, not your ID. Hope to see you on the network soon! Welcome in advance to the VATSIM skies
Brendan Lynch 1167842 Posted November 15, 2010 at 09:55 PM Posted November 15, 2010 at 09:55 PM If none of those are right, there might be an error within 9.61. 9.62 is out now, no longer 9.62rc, so run the updater and see if that helps.
Michael Eamer Posted November 16, 2010 at 04:33 AM Author Posted November 16, 2010 at 04:33 AM Thanks, Several weeks ago, I re-installed completely and it worked perfectly. There must have been something wrong in my first installation but I will never know what. It now works wonderfully well so I don't really care. Thanks for your suggestion, I will update anyway.
