Wycliffe Barrett Posted October 18, 2010 at 10:31 AM Posted October 18, 2010 at 10:31 AM Hi Here's a knotty little issue, my F7 key has stopped working in Euroscope, I cannot switch scopes with F&. The keyboard is brand new well a month old and works fine all keys function as they should. Could this be a setting issue somewhere. i thought this function was hard coded into ES. Jonas Eberle Posted October 18, 2010 at 11:10 AM Posted October 18, 2010 at 11:10 AM You could try setting it as your PTT-button to see if ES is able to grab it. Then set PTT/2. PTT/ASEL to something different.
Todor Atanasov 878664 Posted October 18, 2010 at 12:07 PM Posted October 18, 2010 at 12:07 PM The function is hard-coded to capture the F7, but if the keyboard is not supplying it, then it will not work. Do as Jonas suggested and tell us the result. EuroScope BETA Tester/Board of Designers
Martin Loxbo Posted October 18, 2010 at 01:15 PM Posted October 18, 2010 at 01:15 PM Are there any other functions mapped to the F keys? On my keyboard there's an "F lock" key that switches the functions of the F keys, so F7 for example becomes a play/pause button, F8 is stop and so on. Obviously if it's switched, the keys won't do their normal "F" functions. Martin Loxbo Director Sweden FIR VATSIM Scandinavia
Wycliffe Barrett Posted October 18, 2010 at 02:35 PM Author Posted October 18, 2010 at 02:35 PM Hi guys I checked by trying to configure the F7 key to the ptt, that wouldn't work, I check edall the other f keys and they worked perfect;y. The only thing left to do was take off the key by prying it off with a handy letter opener and by pushing a pen against the membrane could see that the f7 function was working perfectly. I replaced the key and all is well again. Damn keyboard, just a sticky moment. Martin Loxbo Posted October 19, 2010 at 12:25 AM Posted October 19, 2010 at 12:25 AM This needs to go in the FAQ. Q: My F7 key is not working. How can I fix it? A: Pry the key off with a letter opener and replace it. Martin Loxbo Director Sweden FIR VATSIM Scandinavia
