Hi folks,

I have a request for controllers in the US and Canada. On Saturday 11 December myself and a few of my friends over at British Airways Virtual are flying over from the UK to Western USA. Myself I'll be flying EGLL to KPHX and I think there'll be probably 1 or 2 others coming to Phoenix with me. I know there's also at least one flying EGLL to KLAS. I'm planning to do my flight real time with the real life flight leaving EGLL at 1500Z giving me an ETA of 1840 local Phoenix time. Since this is not an official BAv event and just a few of us flying together I am posting this request here. Myself and my buddies would really appreciate it if some people could spare some time to give us some ATC along the way - especially for us limeys as the ETA is 0140 for us and somebody else to talk to along the way as it gets late would be great for keeping us awake and alert.

Many thanks

Steve

Thanks Ira, we're gonna try and use the same route that's scheduled on the day, but this is yesterdays route - 23 November, and it always seems to be not too far from this.

thats to KPHX?

try this for EGLL to KPHX

CPT UL9 STU UN546 DEVOL UN544 BABAN UN544 DOGAL NAT TRACK LOACH HO YKL YMO YQT J32 DLH RWF OBH LAA ZUN BUNTR2

i see they last flew your route

http://flightaware.com/live/flight/BAW289

wonder what was the reason for that routing? gotta be a reason for it. probably avoiding the weather we recently had in the Northeast US?

Nov 6th they flew this one

http://flightaware.com/live/flight/BAW289/history/20101106/1500Z/EGLL/KPHX

or probably the winds were better on the 6th then the rest?

i hate mysteries

I dunno E - I've flown EGLL to KPHX and back a few times over the last few years and it's never gone Westbound that low before. Sometimes goes East on those low tracks but West normally goes very North. All I know is that bad things happen when you mess around with the powers of dispatch

Whoa. Way north. Not much I can help with I'm afraid as you'll be byp[Mod - Happy Thoughts]ing the east coast of the US completely. Well enjoy the flight. I'm sure there will be people online who will be happy to help. Make sure you drop the KPHX folks a note and let them know your coming.

Hi folks.

The original route misses a lot of Canada and USA. Too bad the route was not more central.

I will be watching your flight to see if you come closer to Moncton/Gander FIR's.

Good luck - have fun!

I'm hoping the winds will be quite favourable and we can take a more direct route. When I flew to PHX for holiday this year we flew over across New Mexico so I know BA do fly that far South to PHX....all to do with the winds I guess. If I'm struggling to get the real world route and have to make my own route then it will be more Southerly, taking in either South East Canada or North East USA then heading South West across the USA. That's my prefered route but other people flying would prefer the real world route. We'll see. Hopefully, by 14:00z Saturday I'll have a route and I will post it in both the VATUSA and VATCAN forums.

Thanks again

Steve

Good morning, folks.

As far as we know at BA Virtual this is todays real world flight plan for this flight:

CPT UL9 KENET UN14 BAKUR/M083F340 DCT RESNO/M083F340 DCT 57N020W 59N030W 61N040W 62N050W 63N060W/M083F360 DCT BERUS/N0476F360 DCT TEFFO DCT 60N080W 56N090W/N0481F380 DCT YWG DCT 4900N09811W DCT DPR DCT RAP DCT KD60U DCT HBU J10 RSK DCT GUP EAGUL3

I realise that this is a bit too far North for many people and I appreciate that. But other pilots want to keep it as close to real world BA opps as possible so this is the route we'll fly. This will take us through the very north of CZUL then CZWG, KZMP, KZDV and KZAB. We're scheduled for a 1500z departure which gives us a scheduled arrival time into KPHX of 0140z/1740 MST.

Hopefully, we'll see ya on the way

Cheers

Steve

Just an FYI, you don't need all the DCTs in there.. it's [Mod - Happy Thoughts]umed direct or via with the spaces.

CEW J2 SJI is read "Direct Crestview, via J2 Semmes" or CEW SJI is "Direct Crestview, Direct Semmes." It'll make your flight plan easier to read for ATC so we don't have to read through as much information.

Also, if able, match your flight plan to the NAT in use at the time if you are utilizing the NATs and place the correct TMI in your remarks. If Shenwick or Gander Radios are online, it'll help them to know where you are because it's all hand written separation and aircraft on the correct routes help out a lot! No radar in those areas.

For FAA flight plan format you are correct, however he does have it correct for ICAO format

Seeing as how this is in the US Section, then ICAO format doesn't apply.
