Romano Lara Posted November 27, 2010 at 05:24 AM Posted November 27, 2010 at 05:24 AM If for example you have two VFR guys that wanted to do a formation, while the other guy is being tracked and the other is not. Basically it would make the CA alarm cry, but is there any way to override this? I [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ume dropping track on both of them will make the problem go away? Todor Atanasov 878664 Posted November 27, 2010 at 09:02 AM Posted November 27, 2010 at 09:02 AM Well normally when flying in formation only the leader should be with transponder "on"... EuroScope BETA Tester/Board of Designers
Neil Farrington Posted November 27, 2010 at 09:18 AM Posted November 27, 2010 at 09:18 AM Yup. I don't know about FSInn but SquawkBox also has a "formation flying" mode. Neil Farrington VATSIM UK
Romano Lara Posted November 28, 2010 at 04:31 AM Author Posted November 28, 2010 at 04:31 AM Well normally when flying in formation only the leader should be with transponder "on"... Correct. The flight leader has his transponder "on" and still alarms the CA from time to time. Not sure why, and if it's supposed to be doing that given the circomestance. Luke Cunningham Posted November 28, 2010 at 08:33 PM Posted November 28, 2010 at 08:33 PM Yup. I don't know about FSInn but SquawkBox also has a "formation flying" mode. AFAIK, Formation flying mode is to do with server/position updates. Luke Cunningham Senior Controller VATSIM United Kingdom
Jonas Eberle Posted November 29, 2010 at 06:51 PM Posted November 29, 2010 at 06:51 PM I just got that problem yesterday also. Leader is squawking C, wingman standby -> ES triggers a CA How should ES even know they are on similar altitude? In fact, it should not be able because on standby no ALT-information is submitted I used easy correlation mode, if it makes a difference here. I heart, CAs are getting an upgrade in the new version - maybe correct handling of SQ standby could be implemented?
Ervins Reinverts Posted December 1, 2010 at 09:44 AM Posted December 1, 2010 at 09:44 AM If I understand it correctly, in Easy correlation mode you are getting all the info regardless of pilot's squawk settings, so its basically the same as if the wingman would be squawking C.
