Steven Cullen Posted December 22, 2010 at 10:04 AM Posted December 22, 2010 at 10:04 AM Once again we face the imminent end of another year, and at the same time we look forward to the future. VATSIM Board of Governors, Founders and Executive Committee would like to take this opportunity to thank all members for your continuing contribution to the VATSIM and flight simulation communities, whether as a developer or a user. Without your continued support and contributions; neither VATSIM nor Flight Simulation would be able to grow as it continues to do. Looking back on the year that was, VATSIM and its members have achieved many milestones, some of these include: The successful introduction of Pilot Ratings The implementation of GRP2 Major events with traffic levels far beyond most people’s expectations (Cross the Pond) The 10th anniversary of World Flight!! VATSIM witnessed a changing of the guard with long time Board of Governors George Papanikolopoulos and Michael Zazula stepping down from their respective roles, whilst we welcomed Jim Johnson, Wade Williams and Jeff Turner onto the Board. As a community we have lost many dear friends this year, and as we remember them and the contributions they have made over the years, we welcome a new band of friends into the community as we strive to share our knowledge and experiences with them. With this in mind, and on behalf of the Board of Governors, Founders and Executive Committee, I would like to invite you to continue your journey of discovery and learning and to once again enjoy the virtual skies and scopes of VATSIM. Finally, from the members of the Board of Governors, Founders and Executive Committee, we would like to extend the greetings of the season to you however you celebrate this time of year; we wish you happiness, wealth and good health for the New Year and beyond.
